Alford AB33 8NL, UK

I am a professional counsellor and non-religious celebrant living and working in rural Scotland.

Prior to training as a therapist, I was a Steiner Waldorf teacher and writer. I came to Psychology by way of storytelling and I am Jungian at heart, transpersonal in practice.

I treat depression, anxiety, grief and spiritual crisis through right relationship within a therapeutic alliance. I strongly focus on integrating personality fractures by healing trauma. I’m good with grief. [And also despair.]

I see local clients in person at my office in West Kirk and I also work with people across the UK (and abroad!) via zoom.

If you’re really struggling and unsure where to turn, then I might be able to help you. It can be daunting finding a therapist so let me tell you a bit more about who I am and what I can offer you.

A bit about me

Hello, I’m Neil. I’m a psychotherapeutic counsellor and I offer a safe, comfortable, and confidential space in the heart of Leicester city. The space will be yours to share what’s going on for you and really be heard.

I’ve been a therapist for more than 3 years and a member of the BACP. I also have over 25 years of experience working in children and family social care. From this, I have gained significant insight into childhood and teenage trauma and its impact later on in life on how we see ourselves, how we see the world and how we behave in relationships with others.

What I can offer you

I am trained in an approach called Psychosynthesis. This unique approach uses a variety of techniques to help you overcome personal challenges, achieve a greater sense of self-awareness, and supports real personal growth.  As well as offering talking therapy, I use other effective tools including meditation, mindfulness, body/feelings work and creative art materials, if and when it feels right for you.

My practice is just above a coffee shop in Leicester where you can (if you wanted to) buy yourself a beverage before coming up to see me.

The modern pressures of life can take their toll on us – increasing responsibilities and being connected 24/7 can leave us feeling burnt out, anxious, and overwhelmed. Even when we do manage to disconnect, we find it difficult to disconnect from our racing thoughts. If you’re new to therapy it can be daunting, however taking this brave step can be rewarding. It can give you the space to explore what is really going on, process difficult emotions, develop healthy coping strategies and restore your mental well-being – so that you aren’t just surviving, but thriving in the world.

I am a qualified counsellor registered with the BACP. I am trained in Psychosynthesis, which is known as the “Psychology of Hope”. Whether you’re hoping to make a change (in yourself/life/relationships) or to manage change – I am here to help you. I am still part of the “Student Therapy” stream at the Institute as I’m continuing my training to psychotherapy level.

As well as working as a counsellor, I am founder of a charity that empowers young women in East Africa called ETC. Previous to this, I held a number of leadership positions in the Financial Services industry, as well as the start-up world. Having lived in India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Uganda and the UK – I am adept at working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I have an interest in Buddhist psychology and psychedelic psychotherapy (which is the basis of my thesis Masters in Psychology).

I offer an initial free phone consultation to see if I would be able to help, answer any preliminary questions you might have and for us to get a sense of what it might be like to work together.  If we decide to proceed, we will establish a counselling contract to ensure transparency, confidentiality and appropriate boundaries.

I offer confidential, professional support in a relaxed and beautiful setting ~ exclusively for women. I work with whatever difficulties or challenges you may be facing, at a pace that feels safe and right for you.

My practice is based south of Norwich amid tranquil gardens and woodland. Here I provide a confidential, nourishing space where you can be seen and heard. We can gently explore your feelings and fears and what may be holding you back, as well as your hopes and aspirations for the future. Where appropriate, I draw on techniques such as guided meditation and visualisation, inner-child journeying, basic somatic experiencing and the exploration of your symbolic imagination and dream life.

You have control over how we work together, but whatever you choose to share with me can become fertile ground for self-knowledge, creativity and rejuvenation. Essentially, our therapy space is a collaborative, co-creational process in which I commit to supporting you in a deeper and more meaningful connection to your potential, helping you make more authentic choices around the life you want to lead.

I’m a fully qualified Psychosynthesis Counsellor and registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association of Psychospiritual Practitioners (APP), and I abide by their code of ethics. High standards are further ensured by regular supervision at the Institute of Psychosynthesis.

Therapy sessions are 60 minutes, weekly, and cost £50.

Firstly, well done for finding the courage to reach out for help and taking that first step which is crucial for transforming your life. Although challenges are an unavoidable part of our existence, we are often overwhelmed by them and psychologically unequipped to deal with what life throws at us. However, in that hardship there is always an opportunity for growth and healing, which I have experienced myself. As a result, I developed a great passion for helping others to find their way forward, and for the last 13 years have provided clients with various forms of support of which counselling has proved to be the most rewarding.

I am a qualified MBACP Psychosynthesis Counsellor with a BSc (hons) in Psychology and background in Yoga philosophy, currently completing my MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology. Apart from my private practice, I also work for You Trust – a charity that helps survivors of abuse, and I am a part of Dorset Practice. Besides psychosynthesis, my professional experience has also been influenced by person-centred, transpersonal, humanistic, CBT, ACT, Yoga and art therapy approaches, and I have worked with individuals experiencing many different problems and dilemmas. Psychosynthesis that I offer is a therapeutic approach that focuses on self-discovery and development, whilst integrating many aspects of human being, including spiritual, emotional, cognitive and physical.

I will do my best to help you find who you truly are, develop healthy coping skills and reach your full potential. I believe there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and would be honoured to help you find it, whilst guiding you throughout this process in a safe and confidential environment, where you can be truly listened to and accepted for who you are.

THE WOUND IS THE PLACE WHERE THE LIGHT ENTERS YOU
-RUMI

I’m a qualified psychosynthesis counsellor with special interest in childhood trauma and existential crisis.

From my personal experiences came the need to understand and harmonise my condition. This inner journey soon transformed into a purposeful path where my suffering gained meaning and could be seen in a positive light. Great wisdom and beauty can come from suffering and I wish to be a guide to those willing to look closer to the difficult, painful or even destructive aspects of their personality.
I aim to create a safe space where one can learn to identify and understand the many aspects of their personality, focusing not only on the subconscious, but also on the superconscious realm of insight, inspirations and aspirations, working to create a harmonious environment both inner and outer.

During sessions I may also offer guided meditations, somatic movement, EFT (tapping) or make reference to numerology and astrology.

We all long for a connection in which we are never reduced or misunderstood. Therapy is a journey of self-discovery, through which we develop a deeper self-awareness, can recognise patterns and make kinder, more positive choices for ourselves and those around us. By bringing awareness and understanding to what is causing us pain or problems, we can learn to move away from self-defeating patterns of survival and towards a new future aligned with our inner integrity.

Psychosynthesis is a transpersonal psychology that works holistically, nurturing synergy between all parts of your personality, enhance introspection, build ego strength and foster resilience. Instead of a pathologizing psychology, psychosynthesis is kind and empathic before it is probing and analytical. Keenly aware that symptom is a message to be understood rather than an obstacle to be removed, I hold an attitude of respect and a committed interest for the being of the client, the unique and mysterious nature of the other.

Having had a career in finance in London for over 10 years, I am currently training at the Institute of Psychosynthesis towards a diploma in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy. I am a registered trainee psychotherapist with UKCP and adheres to its Code of Ethics and Practice.

Roy Graff

I offer therapy following the Psychosynthesis modality as a qualified counsellor accredited with NCPS.

My practice is informed by lived experience, a great deal of self-experimentation, and exploration, a range of educational courses and 7+ years of running workshops and facilitating groups.

I have had a varied career in business development and marketing for 20+ years, living on different continents and collecting many life experiences. I have lived in Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia.

A personal and financial crisis in 2010, forced me to completely re-evaluate my life and values, begin therapy and dig deep inside for selfawareness and self-love.

I have identified as Polyamorous since 2011, experiencing a wide variety of relationship dynamics in the spectra of Multigamy. I have assimilated knowledge from diverse sources and, most importantly, have made my own mistakes, and learnt a great deal from them.

In the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, these experiences led me to train in psychotherapy following the Psychosynthesis modality, and formalise what had been a hobby since 2014 (I’ve been giving talks, facilitating discussions and holding workshops about non-monogamy, sex positivity, consent and kink to audiences of up to 300 people).  I draw on my training modality, as well as Radical Honesty, Non-violent Communication and Wheel of Consent training.

My therapy is open to anyone, regardless of orientation and identity.

I have particular experience and understanding, working with people who identify as Queer, Kinky, Non-monogamous or Neurodivergent.

Whatever has brought you here….relationship problems, work stress, anxiety, depression, fear, family issues….together we will create a safe space to explore your experience and process your feelings. After all life is often challenging and lonely, the fact you are here looking for support is the biggest and most courageous first step to healing.

I am a Psychosynthesis counsellor, offering short- and long-term work, online or in person at my home in Suffolk.  I made the commitment to my own personal journey of healing and growth mid-life after a career in Marketing.  I chose to study and practice Psychosynthesis as I value the central perspective that we ALL have the potential for healing and change.  It’s in realising that potential we can connect to our life’s purpose giving us meaning and a sense of value.

I hope that what you have read here encourages you to take the next step to get in touch so we can arrange a time for an initial consultation.  The initial session gives us space to discover what brings you to therapy, to start to get to know each other and to determine if you would like to work with me, we will then take it from there.

Whatever you choose take care of yourself.

Chaya Khera creates a safe and supportive space allowing clients to explore and understand some of the factors influencing unhelpful patterns in their life. Whilst exploring deeper feelings can be painful and difficult, it can also be a source of relief and generate real change. In fact, it is at the heart of this process of collaboration that healing can take place.

As an empathic listener, Chaya supports each client to find a way beyond distress and towards discovering their deeper potential. Her core working philosophy is Psychosynthesis and she draws on the most appropriate methods according to the unique and specific needs of the client she is working with.

Chaya also holds understanding and experience of the journey that involves relocating to a different country and is able to hold individuals who are struggling to develop a sense of self or identity.

She supports her clients in resolving a wide range of issues including anxieties arising from the past or in the present, childhood or more recent trauma, depression, relationship difficulties, family issues, bereavement, difficulties and stress at work, as well as spiritual crises.

Hello and welcome. My name is Claudia Florentina Marjoram, I am a Psychosynthesis Counsellor in training (under supervision) with The Institute of Psychosynthesis in affiliation with Middlesex University. I am UKCP registered (UK Council for Psychotherapy).

From personal experience I know that it takes a great deal of courage to acknowledge to ourselves that we might need some help, that we no longer want to suffer and struggle to cope,  no longer want to just exist, but live a full life instead.

I work with my clients in a very integrative way, by this I mean that everything is welcomed in the therapy room, all of who you are, your experiences, your feelings, and your thoughts.

Together we will explore what is going on for you at this time and find a way back to happiness, peace, contentment and your own true Self. The starting point for my work is who and where you are right now, how you arrived at this place and who and where you could be. What limits you, what prevents you from reaching your true potential?

It is a great honour to witness and walk alongside another human being on their life journey. Counselling takes immense courage and commitment and I am offering myself as a fellow traveller, a guide to support, encourage, witness and above all hold you as you journey through the highs and lows, leading to lasting change and transformation.

I really look forward to hearing from you.

Therapy is a journey. We can choose to ignore that part of us that hopes for more in life and in many ways that’s the easier option. The therapeutic journey is not easy.  It can be extremely painful at times, but it can also help us to live again. Since you are reading this there is part of you that wants change, that wants to live in the way you once imagined. It’s not too late.

I can’t offer you a quick fix or answers to make you feel better.  You have all of those.  In fact, you already have all you need.  I can help you to connect more to yourself, which might mean working through some painful parts of your story, that may be known or as yet unknown. It won’t be easy, but I will stay with you, by your side, as long as it takes.
I offer a safe, confidential space for you to bring whatever you need to bring.  You decide at your own pace what you would like to discuss. It may take a little time before you feel ready, and that’s okay. The space will be reserved for you each week, and I will respect and encourage your inner wisdom. This is your journey.

If you want solutions from me and a quick fix, I can’t help with that. I believe in each individual, and that they know on some level what needs to be done. My aim is to connect you to this part of yourself that knows, the part that has always known, but may have got lost along the way. That part of ourselves that we remember from our earliest memories.

I can help you to find new perspective and gain deeper understanding as we explore the parts of yourself you least understand, and uncover your own innate ability to heal and transform your life. As you gain a deeper understanding of  yourself, what you want and how you relate to others, your emotional wounds transform into wisdom and your relationships deepen, the burdens of the past and worries for the future become lighter as you begin to live more freely and fully in the present.

I have always been curious about what motivates and inspires people through their lives. For a number of years I travelled and lived in different countries and cultures eventually settling back in the UK and a career in publishing and later photography. It was through my own experience of seeking therapy and learning to view myself and others through a more compassionate lens that inspired me to train as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

I’m passionate about personal, professional and spiritual development and I sit alongside my clients with empathy, acceptance and respect knowing we are both on a journey of self discovery to become more of who we truly are.

Hello, and thank you for dropping by.  I appreciate that looking for a counsellor can be quite confusing, given the huge range of choices available in this directory. I hope this section clarifies your questions about the issues and people I tend to work with.

What you might be struggling with:

Sometimes we can all feel a bit defeated. The demands of everyday life are already challenging enough. When you add to that either broken relationships, insurmountable work problems, or unhealthy coping mechanisms, it can all get a bit too much. No wonder our ability to manage or make sense of our issues becomes overwhelmed. When this happens, it’s normal to seek to withdraw from your usual routine and find a safe space to unwind, regroup and repair.

Dealing with career breakdown or unforeseen changes might make you feel insecure or fragile. Family life might be particularly stressful at this point, especially if you are a single parent. You might struggle to find the motivation to stay on top of your studies or university work. You might be seeking closure post-breakup or the ability to maintain a long-term relationship.

How you might be feeling:

You might wonder if anyone cares about you, but deep down, you long for a deeper connection. You might notice you attract emotionally unavailable partners, but you yearn to feel more valued, respected and cared for.  You might feel like the only responsible adult, but you often get crushed under the weight of responsibilities. Your self-care routine might be minimal, non-existing or replaced by comfort eating or substance misuse. You might criticise yourself for what you’ve done wrong or beat yourself up for not living up to your own expectations.

Your moods might be unstable, and your strength might wither away as you feel isolated, misunderstood or taken advantage of. You might often feel overburdened with guilt or worry or overwhelmed by the weight of your unresolved issues. Whatever you do, it never feels like it’s quite good enough..? Whatever you might be going through, there could also be an undercurrent of existential dilemmas about the meaning of life, happiness or your purpose that you find confusing or even terrifying.

How I can help:

I help my clients explore complex feelings and make sense of their suffering in a way that allows them to build inner security, regain trust in themselves, and establish clarity in moving forward.

My clients learn to practise assertive communication and establish healthy boundaries by gently processing old traumas and identifying their needs. This makes them feel hopeful and empowered again. They begin to build a sustainable attitude towards well-being and harmony in their life, inner and outer.

My areas of expertise revolve around the issues of low self-worth & self-esteem, high sensitivity, depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, attachment trauma and recovery from abuse.  I know first-hand what it’s like to feel unheard or missed by others, so I do my best to listen with care, compassion and curiosity to what’s happening in my clients’ lives.

How I work:

I work in a non-directive way, which means I do not take charge of what goes on in my sessions. Instead, I invite my clients to bring what matters to them, what feels alive in the moment, and we take it from there. I foster an environment of collaboration, open dialogue and self-responsibility. I empower my clients to implement realistic solutions, stay accountable for the changes they need to make and work at a pace that feels appropriate to their needs.

Who I tend to work with:

I tend to people who identify as caring and kind but struggle with overgiving and people-pleasing. They tend to be hard-working and driven but often come crashing down from exhaustion and excessive stress. I have experience supporting people in education, healthcare, social care, IT and management.

I also enjoy working with those passionate about personal development, such as psychology students or coaches. They have a strong drive to better themselves but often get caught in the trap of perfectionism and can be too hard on themselves. They usually benefit from self-forgiveness and setting realistic expectations.

I also work with spiritually or artistically inclined people who identify as intuitive, highly sensitive and interested in cultivating self-expression, mindfulness and inner peace. They often feel a strong calling to make a difference in our ailing world but are overwhelmed by its harsh demands. They need support in integrating their artistic or spiritual visions into everyday existence. I have experience working with photographers, tarot readers, dancers, environmental activists, and musicians. I am a writer myself.

I have experience working with people in the LGBTQ+ and polyamory communities. I believe in everyone’s right to be who they want to be and love who they feel to love. I particularly feel for the challenges of ex-pats and migrants since I am one myself. I have experience working with Spanish, Italian, Thai and Indian residents in the UK. I work with people of any colour or background, and I enjoy seeing international clients via Zoom. If the descriptions here don’t match you, but you still resonate with the issues described above, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Practical Information:

I work in person and online. My in-person treatment space is in a private residence in Nunhead, SE15 London. I mainly work with people seeking long-term counselling or therapy, so it’s important to establish whether you feel comfortable with your choice of working with me. You can do so by booking a free, no-strings-attached 20 min introductory call (phone or video) by filling out the intake form at the bottom of my website’s home page. I will aim to respond within 2-3 working days. http://www.bristenamantu.com

No life is entirely without suffering and seeking help often means transforming a painful event into a new source of meaning and hope. At some point we all feel tested to our limits. Seeking professional support during these difficult times can transform stressful, painful issues into positive energy and fresh insights. Helping you to honour and accept who you truly are, to believe in yourself and find your voice is what I strive to achieve in our counselling sessions. My aim is to welcome the parts of you as well as all of you and explore your symptoms and difficulties together.

I am studying for an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy which focuses on the Psychospiritual ‘being’. As a qualifying Psychospiritual Practitioner, I am fully insured, registered with the UKCP, hold an enhanced DBS and am under supervision at the Institute of Psychosynthesis in London. I have also completed a Diploma in mindfulness meditation. I believe this is a powerful tool in creating a space where we can reconnect with our consciousness and be in the moment.

Psychosynthesis goes beyond the treatment of an illness and focuses on the well-being and fulfilment of the individual. It benefits people who are seeking peace of mind and looking to discover greater meaning and joy in their lives. It provides a nurturing space to work with both the darkness and emerging light in our lives.

I speak English and Spanish and I am happy to use either language to suit you. I offer negotiable fees and work in Central London.

I offer counselling and psychotherapy on-line and in person in central Brighton and currently have vacancies for clients.

I have been a full time doctor and medical scientist for much of my life and I first came to counselling and psychotherapy more than 20 years ago during a mid-life crisis. Nearly 10 years ago I decided to train as a therapist myself and I qualified as a counsellor, psychotherapeutic counsellor and psychotherapist and now see clients with various forms of suffering including anxiety, depression, relationship problems and addictions.

We all struggle with life’s ups and downs at one time or another and sometimes we can get stuck in old patterns of thoughts, feelings or behaviours. Counselling and psychotherapy offer opportunities to talk about life’s frustrations and to explore deep emotional issues with the aim of resolving them or decreasing their power and providing more choice for the future.

My approach acknowledges that suffering can be caused by a loss of contact with who we really are and much our work together will be aimed at restoring, renewing and strengthening this contact with your true Self and supporting you in living your life from this deep place of inner peace and love.

A space to explore your needs.  Let’s find ways to live happier more productive lives.  In therapy we can make sense of our feelings, behaviours and daily challenges, so we can overcome them with confidence and understanding.  I am here to support you through this process.  Together we can create a safe space to explore your needs in a way that feels right for you.

Symptoms can appear to be isolated problems in their own right and so we often overlook their root causes.  Working to understand how your experiences inform your behaviour makes the symptoms more identifiable and in time, manageable.

You may be suffering with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, phobias, discontentment, patterns in your life that are holding you back; relationship difficulties, separation, divorce, family issues, children leaving home, death of parents, abuse, bereavement, trauma (ancestral, historical or recent), self-esteem (confidence and love for yourself), feeling sad, loss of identity, not knowing who you are, feeling lost for example.  These are all normal issues that we all face and are often not talked about and included as part of life.

Addressing symptoms and their causes helps create a more well-rounded version of ourselves.  By choosing therapy, you are making a gentle commitment to yourself to do this in a confidential, non-judgemental safe space.  I am here to listen.

I work with individual adults of all ages.  I offer a free initial telephone conversation which gives you the chance to ask me questions and for me to get a sense of what you might need.  There is no obligation, just a time for you.  The priority is for you to work with someone you can trust.

Therapy is an important healthy part of our lives, our inner world is just as important as our outer world – it is part of our health and who we are.

I am a Psychotherapist and Counsellor, UKCP registered. I offer weekly sessions in person and have a few spaces in my practice for clients at a lower fee rate.

Do you find yourself struggling to get through the day as a result of troubling situations or overwhelming experiences and issues?  It may be that you are feeling down or life seems tedious or you feel you can’t go on. Perhaps you feel distance or discomfort in relationships with others and would like to feel more connected and cared for? I offer a safe, sympathetic and confidential space for us to work towards relief from emotional pain and distress. I help you find new meaning in life.

I work with people who feel lost and who long to reconnect with themselves and others, mostly, when Will has been dampened by a difficult history of upbringing in their family and early social care environment. The consequences range from mild to severe disruption in development, unique to each person. Some develop addiction to substances, or processes, which damage self-esteem and erode confidence and belief in oneself.  However, new patterns can be reshaped and shifts to healthier ways of Being for the rocky road of life are possible. Within the therapeutic space we aim to develop your personal self as a container for the many elements that drive you and to uncover the spark of your spiritual Self that inspires you from within.

I have an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology and the subject of my thesis established my special area of focus: finding transformation through trauma. Being an Iyengar Yoga teacher, working with the body comes naturally to my practice to connect with how our Beings somatise our psychological state.  Please see my profile on Counselling Directory for more detail about my practice, or the Psychotherapy page on my website.

Considering psychotherapy or counselling is a significant step in choosing to value and invest in yourself by feeling seen and thereby enriching your experience in the world. I offer an initial assessment session for us to discover what is troubling you and to explore how our working together may support the work of transforming your life.

Have you ever wondered if there could be more to life? Do you experience feelings of depression or anxiety?

Psychotherapy can help you in decluttering the defensive layers that are hindering your capacity for a true connection with yourself, life and others.

As a trainee psychotherapist, I will work in a way that enables you to recognise the voice of your higher self which gets overpowered by the voice of your ego – often disguised as anxiety, fears, and worries –  so that you can start to find a closer and healthier relationship with your creative self.

It is a privilege to journey with you with an open heart and to bare witness to the discovery of your inner potential.

In a safe and confidential place, I will listen with empathy and compassion to your life story and difficulties you are experiencing on your journey. Psychosynthesis counselling offers a way of connecting to your creative and unique self. As we all have learned to adapt to our environment, it takes courage to become aware of outdated patterns that don’t serve us anymore.  I work on the premise that we all have the capacity to heal our past to live our lives better. I will be with you in exploring how your feelings are impacted and help you to make different choices how you want to be in the world.

I practice from my home in North London. Contact me for an initial confidential consultation to explore what you want to work on and how we could work together. I offer negotiable rates for people on low income.

Carleton Road, London N7 0ES, UK

My name is Dolma Beresford and I offer psychotherapy and counselling in North London. I hold certificates in counselling, psychotherapeutic counselling and have a master’s degree in psychosynthesis psychology. I am both UKCP and BACP registered and accredited.

If you’re searching for a therapist then it’s likely you are experiencing some kind of distress, discomfort or dissatisfaction. This could be for many different reasons, i.e. relationships, family matters, bereavement, loss, ill health, work worries. Equally, you may have no idea of a cause but just a feeling of emptiness or lack of purpose. Therapy is not only helpful for big traumatic life events. It can also help for times when you are at a crossroads or are feeling “stuck”.

Everyone goes through challenging situations, and while you may have successfully navigated other difficult periods in your life, sometimes you need a little extra support. Through therapy, you are given a safe and confidential place to talk over your difficulties with someone who is trained to help you and committed to supporting you.

Please feel free to contact me and we can have an initial conversation about whether therapy may be appropriate for you. This initial conversation can be face to face or via email or telephone. Whatever makes you feel most comfortable and makes that initial step feel less daunting.

Whatever you bring, a gentle exploration of the issues usually reveals a deeper picture that helps you to make sense of what is happening.

I really look forward to hearing from you.

My name is Elaine Lim. I am a Psychosynthesis Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I operate from my home in Angel, Islington, North London. I offer both in person as well as online sessions depending on your needs and circumstances.

Do you struggle with anxiety, depression or loneliness? Or do you perhaps suffer from low self-esteem, and struggle to find purpose in life? Are your relationships fulfilling for you, or do you struggle to have meaningful and satisfying connections with others?

My intention is that I provide a safe, non-judgmental listening ear to those in need. To this end, I am able to call upon my training and studies in both Eastern (yoga, meditation, tantra) as well as Western (astrology, tarot, plant medicines) spirituality and mysticism.

Together, we will work towards strengthening your connection to your innermost being, giving you tools to be able to access your own inner guidance and wisdom, such that over time you are gradually able to come into a more grounded and centred space within your being. I would also like to work with you on opening your heart to all the joy, beauty and abundance that is your birthright. My ultimate aim is that you should be able to step into being a conscious co-creator of your own reality and connect to your soul’s infinite creative potential, thereby empowering you to achieve your heart’s deepest desires in this life.

Magnus Lundqvist.jpg

I am a Psychosynthesis Psychotherapeutic Counsellor clinically accredited with UKCP, and a Registered Member of BACP.  I am passionate in using imagination, the body and nature as resources, and mirrors of the soul

I provide a warm space for you to slow down and recollect yourself, through telling your story, and learning tools how to protect and care for yourself. I can help you understand how your past, present and potential future are all implicit in the symptoms, issues or longing that has led you to seek therapy. This can give you a deeper experience of who you are, and where you really want to go in life.

I have seen clients for ten years. Some presenting issues I have worked with are: anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement, relationship issues, disability, life limiting illness, childhood trauma, suicidal thoughts, self harm, concerns around sexual or substance addictions, and sexual expression and identity. Working with issues, tends to lead on to clients deeper search for purpose and direction in life. Several clients also work with me on integrating spiritual experiences from for example a retreat, into their every day life.

The sessions are a mix of talking therapy and use of imagination and the body as resources, through guided visualisation, feeling in to sensations in the body, and drawing with crayon.

My work as a therapist is also influenced by my twenty years experience working as a Specialist Palliative Care Nurse supporting people living at the threshold of end of life.

I work short, medium or long term depending on client’s need and ability, and I am experienced in working online or through telephone. Please contact me via e-mail with any enquiries and to arrange an initial conversation or session.

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. Psychosynthesis has been described as ‘a psychology with a soul’, it recognises that each of us is on a journey through life that is both purposeful and meaningful, even though at times it can be difficult and painful. I am here to offer a sanctuary – some time for yourself in which to explore in depth what it is really like to be you.

I believe taking time out of our lives to step back and take stock is really important. I have been trained to help you explore your experience and will support and guide you to find new perspectives and direction.

I have practice rooms in both St Albans and Hendon, if you feel I can be of assistance to you please do not hesitate to call or email for a relaxed discussion about what you are seeking.

I offer a therapy of hope with an eye not only on history, but also on a purposeful future.

I recognise that we all have a True Self and that there are times in life when it can be particularly challenging to express this higher potential. Conflict between our emerging Self and learnt adaptations of the past can cause struggle and suffering. The context for all my work is to support you to live a creative life aligned to discovering and actualising your unique purpose, meaning and values.

I work with clients experiencing the inevitable human suffering caused by bereavement, illness, relationship issues, work related challenges and a whole array of life changes; and with clients who choose to engage with existential issues. My relationship with clients is authentic, collaborative and holistic. I encourage you to be truly you.

My work is informed by my extensive training in Psychosynthesis psychology, psychotherapy, counselling and executive coaching.

I practice from Milnthorpe and Ulverston in Cumbria. Coaching is also available online and I work as an executive coach UK wide.

Bernadette is an experienced counsellor, psychotherapist, supervisor and coach working within an integrative, Psychosynthetic framework. Her therapy practice focuses on attachment, relationships, eating disorders and personality disorders from her Harley Street Practice.

Bernadette has focused predominantly within the business world for professionals working across a broad range of disciplines, including banking and finance. The journey of  self-exploration is always central to her approach and is underpinned by her own professional framework of health, wellness and the soul as it journeys through its own discovery, recovery and future resilience.

Working in both personal and workplace spheres Bernadette has a wealth of experience in corporate shame, narcissism and interpersonal challenges.  She delivers seminars, workshops and professional talks within the above themes as related to business and professional development.

Face-to-face and virtual appointments are available.

Life throws up many challenges, especially in our health and our relationships, and whether we are alone or sharing our life with another, we can sometimes experience fear…doubt; the deepest love….the darkest hatred. We can feel lost…and belong; find joy for life but also experience addiction, depression and paralysing anxiety. There are times when we grow and thrive but other times when we can feel destroyed by life, by what happens to us, and around us.

As we move from one stage of life to another our relationship to ourselves, others, and the world calls us to heal from past traumas, mature internally and externally, and address the ‘crazy’ places we can inhabit as human beings. Psychotherapy is for those who want to do more than just ‘survive’.

I work  holistically, with the whole person, and the whole of life.  With our sense of separateness and connection to others; with hopes dreams and our suffering. My approach blends the wisdom of ancient teachings with the most contemporary theory in depth psychological and neuroscience.

As confidante and guide I walk alongside my clients in whatever capacity they need on a ‘road less travelled’.

I offer psychotherapy in South East London, near Crystal Palace. I use a range of approaches, in a confidential and non-judgemental space, to help you improve your wellbeing and overcome symptoms and issues you might be facing. My aim is that together we can help you improve your wellbeing which can include

• Having a confidential safer space to share your deepest concerns
• Feeling deeply listened to and supported
• Better understanding of the symptoms you experience and why they may have developed
• Developing skills and tools to manage difficult feelings, thoughts and body sensations
• More able to live in the here and now rather than through the legacy of your past experiences
• Knowing, understanding and managing different aspects of your personality
• Knowing and developing a stronger sense of who you feel you really are
• Clearer purpose and direction in life
• More confidence and self-esteem
• Better able to be in relationship with yourself and others around you
• Being more resilient and able to cope with life’s difficulties and their effects on you

Issues you might bring

You are probably looking for help because you are experiencing issues you are finding difficult to manage on your own. These issues and difficulties might include:

• feelings of anxiety or depression
• stress at work and burnout
• lack of confidence and self esteem
• feelings of loneliness and isolation
• difficulties in relationships
• living with the legacy of traumatic experiences
• stressful family life
• separation or divorce
• anger
• a sense of being out of control or panic
• lack of motivation and deeper meaning in life and a sense of something missing
• feelings of surviving rather than thriving.
• difficulty in making choices or in achieving certain goals, such as career changes.

I use a range of approaches. My original training was in psychosynthesis psychotherapy. I have since added knowledge and skills in attachment theory, sensorimotor, EMDR and trauma-informed therapy.

My approach

To support you achieve better wellbeing I use a range of approaches. My original training from 2006 was in psychosynthesis psychotherapy. Psychosynthesis therapy is a broad based approach that works to understand the issues and problems that you are currently facing by looking at aspects of your past. It looks at the patterns you have developed and seeks to uncover hidden or underdeveloped parts of yourself so that you can realise your future potential and find purpose and meaning.

I have since added knowledge and skills in attachment theory, sensorimotor and trauma-informed therapy. But the most important aspect of our work together will be whether you feel I am someone you would like to work with and are able, over time, so share your deepest concerns with. Research has shown that the most important factor across multiple different therapy approaches is the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client.  A Clinical Psychology Review article in 2013 said “the therapeutic alliance (relationship between therapist and client) plays an extremely important role in the change process”.

So the most important decision you will need to make in choosing a therapist to work with is whether I am somebody you would like to work with. The initial assessment is an important way of helping you know this.

Approach and Duration
The number of sessions will depend on the issues or problems you are bringing, and whether they are specific or general in nature, and is always dictated by your needs and choices.

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and get to know each other. I will ask you general questions about yourself, your background and your reasons for seeking counseling. You will have the opportunity to ask me questions about my background and experience, the counseling approach I use and anything else you may wish to know.

Each session lasts an hour and we would review the work regularly.

For more information about how I work please see my website http://www.beyondclouds.co.uk

To arrange an initial consultation please contact me.

I offer one to one sessions for counselling and psychotherapy where I provide a safe space in which you may explore whatever is pressing for you. You may want to work on a particular issue or explore reoccurring experiences, patterns of behaviour or styles of relating. You may be suffering physically, psychologically or emotionally, and may need to express your concerns, fears and hopes. Perhaps you are searching for healing and wholeness, or are suddenly confronted with a crisis and are very anxious. Maybe you just need to talk, tell your story, and just be how you are without any need to be anything in particular for anyone. You may be curious about what it is you really value and wish to explore this.

I am fully committed to helping you resolve or dissolve your problems.

MBACP Accredited

I offer individual and bespoke talking therapy through change, crisis, loss, bereavement, relationship and career challenges from a psychospiritual and holistic health perspective.

I am an established Counsellor, accredited with both BACP and NCS, with a background in mentoring and coaching, and I work with clients who really want to uncover meaning from the therapy process and greater understanding about their life that they can take forwards in possibly new directions.

My main interests lie in disordered eating and addictive behaviours, recovery from narcissistic romantic relationships, conflict in families, bullying at work and the debilitating effects of feeling stuck, lost or unable to access choice in your life.

I realise it takes courage to contact a counsellor and I therefore want to offer you the assurance that I take what I do very seriously and abide by the strictest code of ethics.

I find that my clients experience greater self realisation and positive change by working with me over a concentrated period of time but I do offer one off sessions for people to find out more and see if counselling will work for them.

I practice from home a mile outside St Albans in the village of Sandridge.  There is usually plenty of  free parking outside on the road.  I also offer remote counselling by Zoom and phone, and walking counselling in the many beautiful local woods and commons, weather permitting.

Therapy is about creating a safe, nurturing non-judgmental space to reflect, identify self-destructive behaviours and patterns, and process your difficulties. My aim is to help guide you through the process of re-connecting to your own inner wisdom and resources. Learning to trust yourself in your life decisions and rediscovering your own unique values, meaning and purpose.

Often in life when we experience painful things, there is a tendency to run away or try to ignore them. This can lead to struggles such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and addiction. By exploring these difficulties in a safe, caring, and observant environment we can gently come to know them and in doing so can shift their hold on our lives. As well as letting go of the difficulties, we can begin the journey of bringing awareness to where our adaptations began and connect with who we truly are.
