I am a therapist in training, offering low-cost, psychosynthesis counselling sessions in the centre of Edinburgh. I provide a gentle and non-judgemental space for us to walk together through whatever is present for you.

People often turn to therapy for a multitude of reasons, including current challenges, addictive behaviours, anxiety, emotional instability, relationship struggles, grief stemming from the loss of a loved one or significant life changes such as health or career shifts.

Working within the framework of Psychosynthesis provides a balanced and loving foundation from which to explore and integrate all of our parts. It is a holistic modality that considers body, feelings, mind and spirit.

Together, we can explore unconscious processes, giving meaning to the sub-personalities that shape your day-to-day interactions.

I am particularly interested in dream work, meditation, creative expression, spiritual exploration and working with archetypes & mediums such as tarot.

Everyone has a story, a challenge, a problem or a difficulty that they want to address. Maybe you have something you need help exploring, overcoming, understanding or accepting.

The big secret is that you already have the tools to live an authentic and happy life, you may just be facing some challenges that make it hard to live that truth. Through our work together I can help guide you towards sustainable and meaningful change.

Hello! My name is Stephen Powell.

I have been working in the environmental technology sector for twenty years, which I still do part-time. I have also been a practicing Buddhist for over fifteen years and am an ordained member of the Triratna Buddhist Order in which I teach meditation and lead retreats. Elsewhere I also both play the violin and make violins too… and now I’m a psychotherapist-in-training in Cambridge.

Quite a mixture! I believe everybody has a unique journey in life, and that we all have the opportunity to live a life of meaning and value.

In my life I have benefitted greatly from both therapy and my own spiritual practice and I would like to pass on those gifts to others.

Let’s introduce myself:  My name is Wim Verbeek. Since early 2022, I have been pursuing my MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology at the Psychosynthesis Institute in London. Psychosynthesis has come to mean more to me than just a method for coaching, counseling, or therapy; it is a way of life for me. In 1998, I completed my initial training in Psychosynthesis at the Psychosynthese Institute, which is now based in Hilversum, the Netherlands. I furthered my professional training as a Psychosynthese practitioner in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, at the Psychosynthese Academy, and since 2018, I have been operating my own practice in Amsterdam. In addition to individual counseling in my practice, I also facilitate a weekly psychosynthesis therapy group.

For me, working with clients in practice means embarking on a journey together, a journey towards a conscious and loving life. Psychosynthesis supports this process of learning to love again, making conscious choices, and fostering right relations—a Psychology of Love and Will.

Feel free to explore my website for more information, and please don’t hesitate to contact me for an informal introductory online conversation or to schedule an in-person meeting at the practice.

Psychosynthesis therapy is a soulful process – a way to tune into a wiser part of yourself which has answers. It teaches you that you’re enough; and you can grow, and live with more purpose and choice.

I’d love to help you explore the challenges you are going through and to harness your own inner resources.

I am a trainee therapist in supervision with the Institute. I’m also a hypnotherapist accredited with the IACT and an astrologer.

Profile.jpg

I am a trainee therapist in supervision at the Institute of Psychosynthesis, University of Middlesex.

Within therapy, I hold that each of us is already enough and complete. And… we may be wanting different, more, for ourselves too.

My passion lies in helping guide others to live to their aspirations and beyond their crises, using personal will to access the choices that enable meaningful long-term change.

I have particular interests in trauma, neurodiversity and neuropsychology, as well as a growing awareness of ecopsychology.

Hi, I’m Geanina, a counsellor-in-training at the Institute of Psychosynthesis and a trainee member of the BACP. I am currently a counsellor at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London. I also have experience working as a career coach having trained in this area.

I will offer you a non-judgemental and safe space to talk about your difficulties, so you can gain the awareness and understanding you need to move beyond them.

What brought me to this work is my passion for understanding people and my desire to be a soothing presence for them. My intention is to offer you a safe space where you can feel listened to and accepted no matter what you bring to therapy. Exploring your inner landscape in such a space will allow you to see yourself more clearly and to take a new perspective on your current struggles. With increased awareness, shifts will begin to happen within that will have a positive influence on how you act outside the therapy room as well.

Hampstead Therapist

I am a qualified Integrative Therapist, BACP member.

In addition, I am a Psychosynthesis therapist in training at the Institute of Psychosynthesis, London, where I am completing my Masters in Psychosynthesis Psychology.

I have worked mostly in the areas of co-dependency, addictions, depression, anxiety, bereavement, low self-esteem, family issues, spiritual crisis and other blockages or traumas.

Being of service to others in the form of  helping a ‘fellow traveller,’ providing a safe, empathetic, non-judgemental, compassionate space is the foundation of my practice. The work is done collaboratively, so that you feel supported and encouraged in working through your barriers, becoming more connected to your Authentic Self, and living a more fulfilling and purposeful life.

In my experience, healing and positive change often begin with challenging crises, but with the appropriate therapeutic alliance, where the client feels understood, motivated, and invested in their work with the therapist, a shift from survival mode to thriving occurs.

I have been practicing meditation, especially pranayama (breathing meditation) and Vedic chanting for the past 15 years and find it to be a soothing and helpful tool in the process of healing, which is also available to you in your session, if you so choose.

My practice is 2 minutes from the Hampstead Heath Overground, very near the enchanting Hampstead Heath in northwest London.

Walking therapy is also available.

If you’re really struggling and unsure where to turn, then I might be able to help you. It can be daunting finding a therapist so let me tell you a bit more about who I am and what I can offer you.

A bit about me

Hello, I’m Neil. I’m a psychotherapeutic counsellor and I offer a safe, comfortable, and confidential space in the heart of Leicester city. The space will be yours to share what’s going on for you and really be heard.

I’ve been a therapist for more than 3 years and a member of the BACP. I also have over 25 years of experience working in children and family social care. From this, I have gained significant insight into childhood and teenage trauma and its impact later on in life on how we see ourselves, how we see the world and how we behave in relationships with others.

What I can offer you

I am trained in an approach called Psychosynthesis. This unique approach uses a variety of techniques to help you overcome personal challenges, achieve a greater sense of self-awareness, and supports real personal growth.  As well as offering talking therapy, I use other effective tools including meditation, mindfulness, body/feelings work and creative art materials, if and when it feels right for you.

My practice is just above a coffee shop in Leicester where you can (if you wanted to) buy yourself a beverage before coming up to see me.

The modern pressures of life can take their toll on us – increasing responsibilities and being connected 24/7 can leave us feeling burnt out, anxious, and overwhelmed. Even when we do manage to disconnect, we find it difficult to disconnect from our racing thoughts. If you’re new to therapy it can be daunting, however taking this brave step can be rewarding. It can give you the space to explore what is really going on, process difficult emotions, develop healthy coping strategies and restore your mental well-being – so that you aren’t just surviving, but thriving in the world.

I am a qualified counsellor registered with the BACP. I am trained in Psychosynthesis, which is known as the “Psychology of Hope”. Whether you’re hoping to make a change (in yourself/life/relationships) or to manage change – I am here to help you. I am still part of the “Student Therapy” stream at the Institute as I’m continuing my training to psychotherapy level.

As well as working as a counsellor, I am founder of a charity that empowers young women in East Africa called ETC. Previous to this, I held a number of leadership positions in the Financial Services industry, as well as the start-up world. Having lived in India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Uganda and the UK – I am adept at working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I have an interest in Buddhist psychology and psychedelic psychotherapy (which is the basis of my thesis Masters in Psychology).

I offer an initial free phone consultation to see if I would be able to help, answer any preliminary questions you might have and for us to get a sense of what it might be like to work together.  If we decide to proceed, we will establish a counselling contract to ensure transparency, confidentiality and appropriate boundaries.

Supporting and guiding you to make a change.
The psychological way.

TK Pic.jpg

All of my clients are unique, with their own story to tell as they journey through life.

They experience challenges and ups-and-downs which can sometimes make their journey hazardous, sometimes painful – and sometimes they just feel lost and in need of a guide, or someone to talk to.

I work with clients helping them to build strong foundations for living in the here-and-now, enabling them to cope with the anxiety, depression, issues and traumas that life can bring; I work to increase awareness of the energies keeping clients trapped in patterns and thoughts stopping them from being their fullest self.

In this busy, fast-paced and sometimes hectic world, I offer a space where clients can pause and choose to step out of the tumult of the external world, and obligations to others, and take an hour to nurture their inner selves, to tune into their needs, their fears, unhelpful patterns or unresolved issues stoping them living their lives fully. A space where they prioritise their journey, their psychological well-being and their hopes and dreams. In doing so, they can return to the outer world refreshed and empowered.

Hannah Gleeson –

I am a psychospiritual counselling trainee offering affordable counselling in person and on-line. I am based in the Brecon Beacons, South Wales. I have achieved a masters in Psychosynthesis Psychology, accredited with UKCP.

Having qualified initially as a health care professional over 10 years ago, I have practiced mainly within acute mental health services. Consequently, I know the value of baring witness to, and caring for, another’s suffering, as-well-as personally receiving witnessing and care from colleagues and mental health professionals.

I offer a safe space to relate, process, explore, emote, emerge. If this is something you’re looking for then give me a call for a free initial consultation.

I offer confidential, professional support in a relaxed and beautiful setting ~ exclusively for women. I work with whatever difficulties or challenges you may be facing, at a pace that feels safe and right for you.

My practice is based south of Norwich amid tranquil gardens and woodland. Here I provide a confidential, nourishing space where you can be seen and heard. We can gently explore your feelings and fears and what may be holding you back, as well as your hopes and aspirations for the future. Where appropriate, I draw on techniques such as guided meditation and visualisation, inner-child journeying, basic somatic experiencing and the exploration of your symbolic imagination and dream life.

You have control over how we work together, but whatever you choose to share with me can become fertile ground for self-knowledge, creativity and rejuvenation. Essentially, our therapy space is a collaborative, co-creational process in which I commit to supporting you in a deeper and more meaningful connection to your potential, helping you make more authentic choices around the life you want to lead.

I’m a fully qualified Psychosynthesis Counsellor and registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association of Psychospiritual Practitioners (APP), and I abide by their code of ethics. High standards are further ensured by regular supervision at the Institute of Psychosynthesis.

Therapy sessions are 60 minutes, weekly, and cost £50.

20211016_145600_3.jpg

We all long for a connection in which we are never reduced or misunderstood. Therapy is a journey of self-discovery, through which we develop a deeper self-awareness, can recognise patterns and make kinder, more positive choices for ourselves and those around us. By bringing awareness and understanding to what is causing us pain or problems, we can learn to move away from self-defeating patterns of survival and towards a new future aligned with our inner integrity.

Psychosynthesis is a transpersonal psychology that works holistically, nurturing synergy between all parts of your personality, enhance introspection, build ego strength and foster resilience. Instead of a pathologizing psychology, psychosynthesis is kind and empathic before it is probing and analytical. Keenly aware that symptom is a message to be understood rather than an obstacle to be removed, I hold an attitude of respect and a committed interest for the being of the client, the unique and mysterious nature of the other.

Having had a career in finance in London for over 10 years, I am currently training at the Institute of Psychosynthesis towards a diploma in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy. I am a registered trainee psychotherapist with UKCP and adheres to its Code of Ethics and Practice.

-Low-Cost Counselling-

A large majority of suffering is related to a disconnection to ourselves. Trauma makes us feel alienated, depressed, reactive and more. These symptoms are a sign of this disconnection. I offer a space where we can explore and re-enter connection with ourselves and life to feel empowered and content again.

As a trainee psychosynthesis therapist I am able to offer low-cost therapy. To name a few of the areas psychosynthesis can be helpful with:

  • Struggles with purpose and meaning
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bereavement
  • Psychospiritual issues
  • Low self-esteem/confidence
  • Relationship struggles
    and more.

Please visit my website for more information and to contact me regarding an initial free phone call to see how I can assist you on your search for healing and wholeness.

Hello and welcome. My name is Claudia Florentina Marjoram, I am a Psychosynthesis Counsellor in training (under supervision) with The Institute of Psychosynthesis in affiliation with Middlesex University. I am UKCP registered (UK Council for Psychotherapy).

From personal experience I know that it takes a great deal of courage to acknowledge to ourselves that we might need some help, that we no longer want to suffer and struggle to cope,  no longer want to just exist, but live a full life instead.

I work with my clients in a very integrative way, by this I mean that everything is welcomed in the therapy room, all of who you are, your experiences, your feelings, and your thoughts.

Together we will explore what is going on for you at this time and find a way back to happiness, peace, contentment and your own true Self. The starting point for my work is who and where you are right now, how you arrived at this place and who and where you could be. What limits you, what prevents you from reaching your true potential?

It is a great honour to witness and walk alongside another human being on their life journey. Counselling takes immense courage and commitment and I am offering myself as a fellow traveller, a guide to support, encourage, witness and above all hold you as you journey through the highs and lows, leading to lasting change and transformation.

I really look forward to hearing from you.

Online and in person counselling and psychotherapy.

I provide a warm and compassionate space for you to talk about whatever it is that may be troubling you. I can help you to find new perspective and gain deeper understanding as we explore the parts of yourself you least understand, and uncover your own innate ability to heal and transform your life. As you gain a deeper understanding of  yourself, what you want and how you relate to others, your emotional wounds transform into wisdom and your relationships deepen, the burdens of the past and worries for the future become lighter as you begin to live more freely and fully in the present.

I have always been curious about what motivates and inspires people through their lives. For a number of years I travelled and lived in different countries and cultures eventually settling back in the UK and a career in publishing and later photography. It was through my own experience of seeking therapy and learning to view myself and others through a more compassionate lens that inspired me to train as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

I’m passionate about personal, professional and spiritual development and I sit alongside my clients with empathy, acceptance and respect knowing we are both on a journey of self discovery to become more of who we truly are.

If you’d like to have a relaxed, no obligation chat to find out if therapy is right for you at this time in your life do get in touch, I’d love to hear from you. My practice is in the centre of Frome in a peaceful and discreet setting and I also see clients online.

Hello, and thank you for dropping by.  I appreciate that looking for a counsellor can be quite confusing, given the huge range of choices available in this directory. I hope this section clarifies your questions about the issues and people I tend to work with.

What you might be struggling with:

Sometimes we can all feel a bit defeated. The demands of everyday life are already challenging enough. When you add to that either broken relationships, insurmountable work problems, or unhealthy coping mechanisms, it can all get a bit too much. No wonder our ability to manage or make sense of our issues becomes overwhelmed. When this happens, it’s normal to seek to withdraw from your usual routine and find a safe space to unwind, regroup and repair.

Dealing with career breakdown or unforeseen changes might make you feel insecure or fragile. Family life might be particularly stressful at this point, especially if you are a single parent. You might struggle to find the motivation to stay on top of your studies or university work. You might be seeking closure post-breakup or the ability to maintain a long-term relationship.

How you might be feeling:

You might wonder if anyone cares about you, but deep down, you long for a deeper connection. You might notice you attract emotionally unavailable partners, but you yearn to feel more valued, respected and cared for.  You might feel like the only responsible adult, but you often get crushed under the weight of responsibilities. Your self-care routine might be minimal, non-existing or replaced by comfort eating or substance misuse. You might criticise yourself for what you’ve done wrong or beat yourself up for not living up to your own expectations.

Your moods might be unstable, and your strength might wither away as you feel isolated, misunderstood or taken advantage of. You might often feel overburdened with guilt or worry or overwhelmed by the weight of your unresolved issues. Whatever you do, it never feels like it’s quite good enough..? Whatever you might be going through, there could also be an undercurrent of existential dilemmas about the meaning of life, happiness or your purpose that you find confusing or even terrifying.

How I can help:

I help my clients explore complex feelings and make sense of their suffering in a way that allows them to build inner security, regain trust in themselves, and establish clarity in moving forward.

My clients learn to practise assertive communication and establish healthy boundaries by gently processing old traumas and identifying their needs. This makes them feel hopeful and empowered again. They begin to build a sustainable attitude towards well-being and harmony in their life, inner and outer.

My areas of expertise revolve around the issues of low self-worth & self-esteem, high sensitivity, depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, attachment trauma and recovery from abuse.  I know first-hand what it’s like to feel unheard or missed by others, so I do my best to listen with care, compassion and curiosity to what’s happening in my clients’ lives.

How I work:

I work in a non-directive way, which means I do not take charge of what goes on in my sessions. Instead, I invite my clients to bring what matters to them, what feels alive in the moment, and we take it from there. I foster an environment of collaboration, open dialogue and self-responsibility. I empower my clients to implement realistic solutions, stay accountable for the changes they need to make and work at a pace that feels appropriate to their needs.

Who I tend to work with:

I tend to people who identify as caring and kind but struggle with overgiving and people-pleasing. They tend to be hard-working and driven but often come crashing down from exhaustion and excessive stress. I have experience supporting people in education, healthcare, social care, IT and management.

I also enjoy working with those passionate about personal development, such as psychology students or coaches. They have a strong drive to better themselves but often get caught in the trap of perfectionism and can be too hard on themselves. They usually benefit from self-forgiveness and setting realistic expectations.

I also work with spiritually or artistically inclined people who identify as intuitive, highly sensitive and interested in cultivating self-expression, mindfulness and inner peace. They often feel a strong calling to make a difference in our ailing world but are overwhelmed by its harsh demands. They need support in integrating their artistic or spiritual visions into everyday existence. I have experience working with photographers, tarot readers, dancers, environmental activists, and musicians. I am a writer myself.

I have experience working with people in the LGBTQ+ and polyamory communities. I believe in everyone’s right to be who they want to be and love who they feel to love. I particularly feel for the challenges of ex-pats and migrants since I am one myself. I have experience working with Spanish, Italian, Thai and Indian residents in the UK. I work with people of any colour or background, and I enjoy seeing international clients via Zoom. If the descriptions here don’t match you, but you still resonate with the issues described above, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Practical Information:

I work in person and online. My in-person treatment space is in a private residence in Nunhead, SE15 London. I mainly work with people seeking long-term counselling or therapy, so it’s important to establish whether you feel comfortable with your choice of working with me. You can do so by booking a free, no-strings-attached 20 min introductory call (phone or video) by filling out the intake form at the bottom of my website’s home page. I will aim to respond within 2-3 working days. http://www.bristenamantu.com

Looking into therapy requires curiosity and courage, so thank you for being here, you’ve come a long way!

Your life might feel like a crisis now or you might be slightly yet continuously disappointed. You might struggle with the world’s troubles or with your intimate relationships. You might feel the urge to find yourself or a need for an honest and authentic conversation. Wherever you’re on your journey, I am here to be your travel guide and companion. Together, we can navigate your journey towards a freer life and a wholesome relationship with yourself and others.

‘Courage therapy’ is the term that I choose to describe my approach. It stems from the psychosynthesis, the school I belong to, and the experience and inspiration I have drawn from the years of therapeutiс practice and working with people. The word ‘courage’ comes from the Latin word ‘cor’, ‘heart’. Courage therapy is a manifestation of your free will. The will to see your power, to find oneness with the universe, to set yourself free from the demands of society and find your own ways to contribute to it. To experience the miracle of being yourself and being with others.

Some of the challenges that clients come to me with: personal, spiritual and relationships crisis, alcohol and drugs addiction, sex-related issues (dysfunction, chemsex, addictions, shame), a new diagnosis of HIV and living with HIV, destructive relationship with social media, surviving abuse, facilitation of group dynamics in critical settings.

My own journey includes over 10 years in the corporate world before starting in psychosynthesis. I have the experience of migration, overcoming addictive behaviours, troublesome relationships, abuse and spiritual crisis. I love designing spaces and travelling places. I love to love people and hope to see a world where more of us are free.

If any of this resonates with you, please contact me to set the time for our first conversation. I would be happy to accompany you on your journey.

❤️

Therapy is about creating a safe, nurturing non-judgmental space to reflect, identify self-destructive behaviours and patterns, and process your difficulties. My aim is to help guide you through the process of re-connecting to your own inner wisdom and resources. Learning to trust yourself in your life decisions and rediscovering your own unique values, meaning and purpose.

Often in life when we experience painful things, there is a tendency to run away or try to ignore them. This can lead to struggles such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and addiction. By exploring these difficulties in a safe, caring, and observant environment we can gently come to know them and in doing so can shift their hold on our lives. As well as letting go of the difficulties, we can begin the journey of bringing awareness to where our adaptations began and connect with who we truly are.
